We are located in a historic mining area--the Julian District--noted for gold production in the late 1800's. In addition to that, we are located ten miles from the world-class locale for tourmaline--the Himalaya mine in Mesa Grande, CA.  This mine is not currently open to the public, but is still producing great pink and green tourmaline crystal specimens.  We carry some uncut Himalaya tourmaline specimens as well as gold from California and Alaska.  We are proud to carry the book about the early days of the Himalaya mine, which is Mining Gems and Gold in the West by Fred Rynerson.  

WE carry many beautiful rock and mineral specimens from all over the world, along with fossils such as Trilobites and Ammonites.  Petrified wood from Arizona and California are also found in our shop.  Come and see our great collection!
